What better way to say “Happy Valentine’s Day” than with a gorgeous wreath on your front door!
I’ve said it many times…a wreath is one of the easiest and most vivid ways of decorating your home for the holidays (or seasons). And Valentine’s Day is no different.
In fact, holidays like Valentine’s Day, which I think of as “secondary” holidays to our bigger ones, like Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, often get overlooked when it comes to home decor. I get it – it can be expensive to buy tons of decorations for these smaller occasions, and you also have to store the stuff when it comes down.
That’s why wreaths are such a no-brainer. They’re easy to hang up, don’t take much space to store, and they can have a dramatic impact. Perfect!
Also wonderful is the sheer variety of wreaths and creative ideas available to us. For this Valentine’s Day, we’ve curated 10 stunning wreath ideas. I hope you find one you love!
Lots of Hearts
Why settle for one heart when you can hang a bunch? Ribbon and some inexpensive glitter or tinsel hearts make for a dramatic DIY entry.
Spell It Out
If you’re looking for an alternative to the traditional wreath, try some creative lettering. We love this idea from Toadstool Pond, incorporating burlap, chair webbing, and wood squares that spell out LOVE.
Double Up
Wrap a wreath form in a variety of ribbons and then add an inner heart fashioned from red and pink faux berry sprigs. It’s quick and easy and oh-so-sweet.
Rosy Red Heart
I love this look! Rosettes made from cozy red felt cover a heart shape cut from an old box. Hung with a red and white polka dot ribbon, it’s just adorable.
Organic Elegance
For something a bit more subdued, consider a grapevine heart covered in sprigs of tiny white berries. Suspended from a burlap bow, it’s the epitome of organic elegance.
Jumbo Gift Tags
This is another creative idea I’m loving. Create (or buy) a set of jumbo-sized “gift tags” to hang on your door. Paint them in Valentine colors and add some sweet messages. A red satin bow completes the look.
Cupid’s Arrow
For this look, cover a heart wreath form in your favorite yarn. (You can buy a straw or foam form, or make one using a pool noodle.) Pierce it with an arrow made from a simple wood dowel decorated with a felt tip and tail and proclaim your love!
Repurposed Pine Swag
Those pine wreaths and swags you bought for Christmas can make great foundations for Valentine’s Day decorations, too. Add Valentine’s-themed ribbons, picks, and other decor, leaving just a bit of the greenery exposed.
Hearts and Flowers
Something about this wreath just makes me love it (pun intended). A simple grapevine wreath festooned with glittery hearts, faux roses, ficus leaves, white berries, and ribbon. It’s fresh, bright, and lively, and – I’ll say it again – I love it!
Berry Sweet
Lovely and simple – a grapevine heart wreath wrapped in red berries and tied with a burlap bow. It’s rustic beauty at it’s best.
