5-Minute Easter Decorations When You’re Short on Time

Easter may be right around the corner, but there’s still time to do a little decorating before the big day. It’s amazing how quickly the holidays arrive!

It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day, lose track of time, and then feel completely unprepared for the coming celebration.

Good news: adding some Easter/springtime touches to your home doesn’t need to be time intensive or stressful. Using what you already have on hand helps keep things effortless. Or, if you prefer, a quick run to your favorite craft store works, too.

Whatever your choice, adding even one decorative element can go a long way to giving your home a springtime glow.

Below we’re sharing some easy ideas for adding a festive touch to your Easter celebration.

Enjoy!

Floral Candle Ring & Bunny

Place a bunny (or other Easter figure) and springtime candle on a credenza, end table, or bookcase.

Forsythia Wreath

For more dramatic impact, hang a larger version. The look is great for the entire spring season.

Dollar Store Topiary

Add a pre-made Easter egg tree to a decorative pot.

You know I can’t resist a dollar store deal. At $5, this boxwood topiary with Easter eggs was too cute to pass up. To give it a boost, we removed the burlap covering on the base and placed it a tall metal vase. Brown crinkle shreds were tucked in for a natural finish.

Hydrangea & Carrot Basket

Another way to display them is on a stack of vintage books or even in a pretty tea cup.

The pastel colors are great for Easter, but speckled neutrals in soft blue and sand would be beautiful, too.

Bunny & Florals Wall Decor

This one is in our back porch entry that we use all the time. The pops of color automatically put us in a good mood!

Easter Train Car

Create an Easter arrangement in a toy train (or other toy).

Okay, this one may seem oddly specific. Toy trains are an homage to my dad. He was a collector and we have a handful of his pieces including this one that sits on a pine chest we use as a coffee table (hand made by hubby!). I decorate it for each season and holiday.

The concept here is less about toy trains and more about “Easterizing” an unexpected item. Children’s toys – trucks, miniature wagons, mini wheelbarrows, etc. make for sweet decorations.

But it doesn’t have to be a toy. A candlestick can make a great decorative foundation. Just add some Easter grass on top and a single egg for a lovely accent that takes just a minute.

For our train car, we added random speckled eggs, jute carrots, and some greenery sprigs around a battery operated candle.

Candle Nest

So don’t sweat it if you haven’t finished decorating (or even started). Sometimes the best creations happen at the last minute and take less than five!

There’s nothing like an inspired, joyful home for the holidays.

Wishing you a blessed Easter weekend and beautiful spring!
