Candles
As you may know, we LOVE battery operated candles. They look great, last a long time, and they’re so much safer than traditional candles. Plus, most come with a remote control or built-in timer, making them super convenient to use.
Add a little candle flicker to your outdoor spaces with these waterproof versions. They’d look great in a lantern candle holder, tucked in among pumpkins and planters, or on porches, steps, or tables.
Indoors, votives are perfect for scattering throughout the house, lighting up your fireplace mantle, or dining table. We tuck them among items in our bookcases for a slightly eerie effect.
Lastly, these black pillar candles would be perfect for creating a subtle macabre atmosphere. They’re classic, but definitely have a spooky factor.
Lights
Orange and purple LED lights attached to spindly “branches” look like they came right from a haunted forest. They’d be great for a creepy Halloween tablescape – which I may have to try! Or use them to decorate a mantle, sideboard, or door frame.
If you need something a bit longer, try this 98-foot strand. It’s purple and orange and comes with a timer function and eight lighting modes.
Finally, for those looking for something that’s more sweet than scary, we recommend these fall maple leaf garlands with white lights. We purchased the same ones a couple of years ago for decorating our fireplace mantle and love them. They offer just enough glow, and are appropriate for Halloween or Thanksgiving.
Interior Home Décor
We found some great candle holders for those battery-operated deals featured above.
These black metal choices are seasonless, so you won’t need to store them just because Halloween is over. The mesh option includes its own solar-powered candle – awesome!
These pillow covers are so cute and such a steal, I had to include them…and I may just be buying them, too!
These cool skeleton keys would look great as a table accent. Think of them as keys to a cemetery, haunted house, or pirate’s treasure chest.
For a “Nightmare Before Christmas” look, try this 3-foot black tree with purple lights. The branches are bendable so you can shape it and it’s rated for indoor or outdoor use.
Lastly, we love this bat wall décor! They stick to your walls, but are easily removed, so you can create different patterns and scenes that look like they’ve just taken flight.
Spooky Accents
There’s nothing quite as cool as a life-size skeleton at Halloween. A house nearby puts one on a bicycle in the front yard and I look forward to it every year!
Similar skeletons can be pretty expensive, so getting one this size at this price (that isn’t complete junk) is rare. We’ve included two options: the Amazon deal and one that comes very close to the deal price. The second option seemed to get slightly better reviews, so we wanted to include it for comparison.
You’ll need a big skeleton to keep an eye on this small but mighty guy in his prison cage. He comes with a motion sensor, so walk by and his eyes will glow red, he’ll shake his cage, and yell to be let out!
Now imagine your crew of skeletons surrounded by an eerie mist. (We wanted a fog machine in the worst way as kids, but it was not to be.) This highly rated version includes the option for multiple colors, strobe light effects, and it comes with a remote.
And what’s Halloween without spider webs? Have fun adding some gauzy webbing to shrubs, trees, or anywhere you want to make things a bit chilling. Or go with a 4-foot light up version complete with gigantic spider!
For something a little more welcoming, a pair of porch banners say “Happy Halloween” without being too scary. Hang them on or around your front door for a quick and easy accent. Or go for a collection of colorful paper lanterns. The smiling jack-o-lanterns and waving skeletons receive high ratings!
A Little Something for the Pets
We love our pets, so getting them in on the holiday spirit is a no brainer.
While we love the ghost costumes in the pic above (how darn adorable is that?!), these cute bandanas will get your pup ready to greet trick-or-treaters in no time.
