If you’re looking for a little something different this holiday season, we’re providing some gift giving inspiration with a Maine twist! Everything is thoughtfully curated and high quality (like all the items in our Shop). If you’re going to spend money, make it count!
Some of the gifts on our list are made in Maine, while others are inspired by our beautiful state. They’re all sure to please, so without further ado, let’s go shopping!

No Maine-inspired holiday is complete without a gift from LL Bean, and the classic Bean Boots top the list! You can get them in a variety of colors and warmth options (like flannel- or shearling-lined), as well as lace up, pull on, and zipper versions. I expect mine will last decades – they’re that good.
And while we’re perusing the wares at LL Bean, the Boat and Tote is another all-time favorite from the iconic retailer. These are super versatile, come in lots of colors, make amazing gifts, and can be personalized with monogramming.
Another “born in Maine” brand we love is Burt’s Bees. Their products never disappoint and this set lets you try several. I’m partial to the peppermint lip balm and always have a tube in my purse. The hand salve is a lifesaver, too, but honestly, I haven’t met a BB product I haven’t loved!
Your pup will look smashing in this adorable collar from the Belted Cow Company. (I featured them in another Maine post.) I can attest to the quality of their products, as our Trigger has been sporting a lobster collar from them for years. The designs are adorable and they stand up to “ruff” and tumble play!
For the cooks on your list, give them the gift of Maine sea salt from one of our local purveyors. It’s practical, unique, and “made” in America. Plus, the jar is just good looking – awesome!
To go with your sea salt, how about a pepper mill shaped like a lighthouse! Fletcher’s Mill crafts beautiful salt and pepper mills, as well as shakers, rolling pins, and salt cellars.
For friends and family who are more sweet than salty, I highly recommend giving Bixby Chocolates. This “lobster dinner” makes a perfect Maine gift, even for non-seafood lovers. The popular chocolatier offers a wide variety of unique treats and flavors.
A set of Turks’ head knot coasters made from 100 percent cotton rope makes a wonderful hostess gift, stocking stuffer, or gift for that person who loves sailing. Available from Sea Bags of Maine (be sure to check out their beautiful line of hand bags and accessories), you can choose from navy blue, red, or white!
There’s also a similar version on Amazon for those who like to leverage their Prime membership as much as possible.
We love the idea of giving (and getting!) a fresh wreath crafted from Maine balsam. They are so fragrant and wonderful! This one from the Living Arrangement shop on Etsy gets rave reviews. (If you’re planning a cyber-stop at LL Bean, they carry them, too.)
We’re wrapping up with a little jewelry. This lobster claw bracelet may be one of the most famous representations of Maine. Definitely a conversation piece, it’s classic but interesting and is available in silver, gold, or a combination.
I hope this list offers you some inspiration, or just gave you something fun to read. Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!
