One of the quickest ways to freshen your home for spring is with decor for your front door.
And with the first day of spring right around the corner, now is the perfect time to start planning!
Wreaths are always a great option, but there are tons of other fun ideas out there, too. Rain boots and umbrellas make adorable containers for bouquets of spring flowers. Bunnies made from moss, burlap, and even stacked wreaths create the sweetest welcome.
We love vintage metal flower holders, baskets, and oversized carrots, too.
Below, we’ve curated a bunch of ideas worth pondering or just peeking at. And if you’re looking for more springtime creativity, we’re serving up pretty Easter tablescapes and centerpieces, too. Have fun!
1. Toolbox Tulips

This Etsy craft may no longer be available to buy, but it would be super easy to DIY. A vintage-y wood tool box stuffed with faux tulips and some preserved moss are all that’s needed. Hang it from a burlap bow and your copycat look is ready.
2. Oversized Carrot

To create this look, start with an oversized faux carrot. Add some greenery fronds for the carrot tops and tie on your favorite ribbon. You can find similar ribbon to what is featured above here and here.
3. Moss Bunny

To recreate this adorably bunny, get a wooden craft cutout and cover it with preserved moss using a hot glue gun. Add a burlap bow and white hydrangea bloom for the tail.
4. Burlap Bunny

This 20-24-inch burlap bunny is easily created using burlap, some fiber fill, and a furry bunny tail. (For a little extra guidance, check out this tutorial.) Attach your favorite ribbon to complete the look.
5. Vintage Metal Pot

There’s something about a well-worn metal planter that gives it warmth and charm. We love this one filled with yellow and white spring flowers. Simple, but beautiful!
6. Bunny Wreath

We had to include at least one traditional wreath and this one was too cute to pass up! A grapevine wreath accented with faux fern fronds and wispy stems makes the perfect setting for a sisal bunny.
Clutching some just-picked carrots, Mr. Bunny sits proudly above a double layer burlap bow. We love it!
7. Boxwood Bunny

You can buy this one on Wayfair. Or, to DIY it, wire two boxwood wreaths together – one small and one larger. Add bunny ears, a bow, and a tail and you are ready for Easter!
8. Bunny Butt

What’s cuter than a bunny butt? How about a bunny butt hanging out of a carrot wreath! Get a round wreath form (we like the flat wood ones for this project) and hot glue a bunch of sisal carrots to it. Attach a bunny butt (yep, you can get them on Amazon) and prepare to smile!
9. Bunny Basket

Another adorable bunny-themed decoration is this cutie peeking out of a tall basket of greenery. A bunny head pick (like this one from Michael’s) works great. Add hanging stems of faux eucalyptus (find them here and here) accented with a spring berry spray.
Lastly, attach a couple of sisal carrots and hang!
10. Vintage Frame

So clever! Instead of a traditional wreath, this look uses an oval picture frame instead (see the image link for a tutorial on distressing it). Glue on some moss, a tiny bird’s nest, and a few willow stems.
Add some twine or small diameter rope for hanging and you have a beautiful creation in under 30 minutes!
11. Bag of Carrots

Use a pre-made burlap sack, or fashion one from burlap cloth to recreate this spring inspiration. Fill it with neutral-colored excelsior for grass and faux carrots.
For the final touch, add a piece of aged white cotton fabric and handwrite “CARROTS 5ยข”. Glue or sew it on, accent it with twine, and you’re done!
12. Rain Boots

A pair of child-sized rain boots is perfect for this door decoration. If your boots have pull-on handles (like the ones in the link), just thread some heavy duty twine or rope through them for the hanger. If that’s not an option, you can punch holes near the tops and thread some twine through those. (You can hide the twine with flowers and ribbon, if desired.)
Fill the boots with flowers – real or fake – and add a pretty bow. Bring on the April showers!
13. Umbrella

And if the boots aren’t enough for those April showers, let’s add an umbrella (we like this collection from Babychelle). What a fantastic idea! It even comes with a built-in hanger.
Tie a ribbon around the middle of the umbrella to keep it from opening. Then fill it with tulips in varying shades of pink, or your favorite color, as shown above.
14. Tulip Carrot

This popular take on a big carrot is one of our favorites. Orange tulips make up the body of the carrot. They’re accented with faux maidenhair fern for the fronds, and a green burlap ribbon.

15. Forsythia Spray

Finally, you can’t have spring without some forsythia. This simple spray uses forsythia stems, thin grass, yellow Easter eggs (we love these cracked egg picks, too), and a yellow ribbon. Feel free to change up the accent colors if you prefer a bit less yellow.
For this one, we’d start with a semi-circle base of foam as the foundation, then add the stems, eggs, and ribbon.
